Comments

The little funnel-shaped blown wine glass has engraved decoration around the outside of the bowl.  One side features a bird in flight, perhaps a phoenix.  A simple floral vine decorates the rest of the bowl.  The plain stem below the bowl attaches to a slightly domed foot with a folded edge (for strength).  The underside of the foot has a pontil mark.

A similar, but more detailed, bird is engraved on the side of a decanter, accession no. 2024.21.
