Comments
This blown wine glass has a round bowl above a long plain stem decorated with spiral air holes, introduced into it when it was made. Drawing the stem out and twisting it created the complex air-twist design composed of small coiled air channels around a larger central air pocket. The two different types of air pockets were created by making one and then adding additional glass with air pockets to the stem and working it. The stem stands on a slightly raised foot with a pontil mark on the underside.
