Comments
The teaspoon has a pointed oval bowl and a fiddleback handle. The handle tip curves upward.
The initials may be those of Sarah Clark Corbit (1810-1871), but she married Anthony Madison Higgins (1809-1887) in 1833, at which time her initials changed. Silversmith Samuel M. Hopper (1811-1859) worked at 66 Chestnut St. from 1847 to 1856, indicating the spoon was made after Sarah's marriage. It may have belonged to collateral Corbit descendants.
