Comments
The spoon has a long, wrought-iron handle with a round hole in the tip. The opposite end of the handle is crudely riveted in two places to a disk of copper hammered to form a shallow bowl.
The spoon has no known early corollaries. The obvious and crude handwork suggests that it was made to appear significantly older than it is. It was likely made to deceive.
