Comments

A spokeshave is a small hand tool designed to shape and smooth curved wood surfaces.  It cuts by pulling or pushing via the handle extensions to guide the angled steel blade.  The blade on this example is the flattened middle of a U shaped part that passes through the wood handle and is held by square nuts (possibly peened in place).  The wood handle side opposite the blade has been crudely decorated with incised lines.
