Comments
The squat bowl with a wide, flared rim and molded handle is finely decorated in underglaze blue, orange-red, green, and gold. Three different floral compositions on the sides are separated by an exotic bird in flight and an oval panel of gilt feathers. The molded handle is on the third side. The rim has four cartouches or medallions separated by four gilt and red roundels. The rim has a gilded edge, and the spittoon stands on a foot ring.
For a wood spittoon, see accession no. 1959.3860.
