Comments
The oval "shaving bowl" appears to have been pressed into shape from modern sheet brass. It may have been made originally as a dish to be used under another object. The arc of material removed from a long side, presumably to allow the user to hold the shaving bowl closer, is a shallower curve than normal. None of edges of the sheet metal have been folded for strength.
