Comments

This rummer--a drinking glass with a very short stem between the bowl and foot--has strawberry-diamond decoration cut into the upper portion of the bowl, above the 12 facets cut around the lower part of the bowl.  It attaches to the short stem with a disk or wafer, and the whole glass stands on a square pedestal base.  The strawberry-diamond design cut into the bowl is one of several variations.  This one has pairs of cross-hatched diamonds that alternate with a decorative arches of vertical lines.  In other respects, this rummer is a smaller version of a set of four, accession no. 1983.120.
