Ex coll. Mrs. E. Tatnall (Mary Corbit) Warner

Pressed glass cups such as this one--called punch cups or lemonades--were made in sets from the 1830s on.  These cups differ from earlier examples in having molded handles rather than tooled and applied handles (see accession no. 1971.925 for an example).  The sides have ten narrow facets.  The underside of the bottom is domed without evidence of a polished pontil.

Cup 1971.924.1 was photographed.
