The touchmark is very worn.  The plate bottom has deep dents and one 3/4-inch tear.

Comments

The worn mark of this 8-inch plate can still be discerned as that of Ashbil Griswold, a prolific pewterer of the lower Connecticut River Valley, where a number of other important American pewterers worked.  The plate has a single reed around the edge of the plate rim.
