Comments
Although "LONDON" can be read in the very worn maker's marks, the identity of the maker stems from comparison of the rose-like device in the center of the second touchmark with clearer examples. Another Piggott plate in the Historic Odessa collection accession no. 1971.874, has several positive points of comparison. In addition, that plate has the same somewhat more broadly shaped reed around the outer edge, which also suggests Piggott's work.
