Comments
This molded pie plate, among the larger sizes of the form, has thicker side walls than usual. They swell outward slightly on the outside and are rounded along the inside rim, giving the sides a curved rather than straight appearance. The plate is similar in this regard to accession no. 1959.4190. There is no foot ring on the underside. Although the mottled coloring lies within the range of Rockingham wares, the glaze seems to have been applied less carefully, leaving a bare spot on the inside bottom as well as a few other imperfections.
