Comments
The music rack is a simple hinged frame of three uprights and two cross pieces, all connected by iron fasteners and washers peened together. The base section has a deep cove molding with a high bead in front to hold music in place. The base is cut on an angle and has two screws on the bottom designed to fit into slots on a piano or other instrument. The music rack cannot stand on its own.
The incised number of 1829 or 1889 is probably related to manufacturing the object. It has no bearing on the date the music rack was made.
