Comments
The mug is decorated in a palette of colors associated with the large and diverse Rose Medallion wares. Specifically, colors include pink, blue, aqua, green, yellow, and orange-red, with some gilding. A wide panel around the body shows Chinese figures against a Chinese pavilion. Notable too is a large “blue rock” motif where the interlaced strap handle joins. The back of the handle has gilded decoration. A floral band around the outside and inside at the top displays a rich variety of flowers.
The outside bottom of this mug is unglazed.
