Comments

The gilt decoration on this tiny compote is a band of connecting C scrolls around a center motif of two blossoms and four small leafy springs.  C scrolls encircle the top of the foot, too.  The stem has two gold bands near the bottom.  The gilding combines flat and glossy gold.

The center of the bottom is polished, probably to allow the compote to stand without wobbling.  The polishing appears not to have removed a pontil mark.
