Comments
This small lidded measure has a bottom that wraps around the base of the body and is soldered. This construction combined with a near absence of wear and other indicators of age suggests that the measure is likely of late manufacture. The V stamped into the top of the lid may have indicated the size. Pewter vessels of all kinds continued to be made through the 20th century and many imitated earlier pewter objects to a degree, as does this one.
