The accession record states that the jog was “Found in an old house in Odessa, Delaware” and acquired from Mrs. Harry B. Roberts, Jr. of Odessa.
The bulbous jug, thrown on a potter's wheel, is of a bulbous shape that tapers to a narrow neck and thick-lipped mouth. An applied handle with some molded decoration down the outside is applied at the neck and midpoint of the body. The jug stands on a narrow foot. The entire jug is glazed a black color.
