Provenance
An early accession record states that the jug was “Found in an old house in Odessa, Delaware” and purchased from Mrs. Harry B. Roberts Jr. of Odessa.
Comments
The jug, thrown on a potter's wheel, is of a bulbous shape that tapers to a narrow neck and thick-lipped mouth. A strap handle with molding down the outside is applied at the neck and midpoint of the body. The jug stands on a narrow foot. The entire jug is glazed a black color.
