Condition Notes

The coverage of red paint is uneven.  Small flakes occur near the rim, in the flowers, and on the base.

The jar is ex coll. H. Rodney Sharp, donated by his sons.

Comments

This unusual redware jar, thrown on a potter's wheel, is unglazed but painted red.  Four flowers are applied around the shoulder, immediately below a band of notches. More notches are around the rim, as well as additional applied decoration.
