Comments

The hanging cupboard is made up of old and reused parts.  The framed door, side boards, cornice molding, and other parts are made of pine; the glazed canted sides and base molding are oak.  The combination of woods suggests that the cupboard was intended to have been painted when it was made.  The exterior has a clear coat; the interior a single coat of paint applied to look aged.  The cupboard door has evidence of earlier hinges, but the door frame does not.  The spring-loaded latch appears to be the first and only latch.  The pegs reinforcing joined corners of the door differ from those in the frame.  The cupboard has three different molding profiles around the various glass panes.
