Painted unidentified hardwood, mirrored glass
Historic Odessa Foundation, bequest of H. Rodney Sharp
The circular frame for the glass has split across the grain. The mirrored glass on one side has broken into four large pieces.
Ex coll. H. Rodney Sharp.
This hand mirror has a circular frame made of an unidentified wood painted black in imitation of ebony. The round frame has a slightly coved face with a small bead and a narrow coved band at the inner edge. A turned handle inserts into the frame. This hand mirror has mirrored glass on both sides. The unbroken mirrored glass magnifies the image; the other side does not. The hand mirror is very similar to acc. no. 1959.3573.
