Comments
The two-tine forks have bone handles which pass over handle tangs and are held in place by domed oval washers or “roves” that are peened in place. The bone handle is decorated with cross-hatched and herringbone incised lines and stained green.
The handle fabrication and decoration parallels that on a set of six knives (accession no. 1959.3894), which are likely made en suite.
