Comments

The fan-back Windsor side chair has a shield-shaped seat, a back of seven spindles between the rear posts, a serpentine-shaped crest rail with projecting ears, and widely-splayed bamboo-turned legs joined by H stretchers.  The rear posts have particularly large swellings scored in the middle to suggest bamboo.  The chair was painted pea green when owned by Winterthur and repainted a darker green by Historic Odessa in 2022.
