Comments
This nicely shaped easy (or wing) chair has cabriole front legs with carved shells on the knees and claw-and-ball feet. The crest rail is gently arched and flows into curved cheeks. Its similarity to American, specifically Philadelphia, easy chairs essentially ends there. The tapered cones ending the arms angle outwards. Most indicative of its English origin, the rear legs taper to a disk-like foot, and a turned stretcher joins the legs.
