Provenance

The decanters were purchased from the Stradlings of New York City for use in the Wilson-Warner House.

Comments

The blown, bulbous decanters have an applied disk foot with a polished pontil mark on the outside bottom.  Each of three rings around a tapering neck is composed of three glass threads.  The lip flares and forms a thick disk.  The body is cut with line and fan decoration.  The blown stoppers also have cut line and fan decoration.

One of the pair of decanters is 9 inches tall, or 3/8-inch shorter.  It was made that way, reflecting the uncertainties of hand-blown glass-making.
