Comments
The blown decanter has three facet-cut rings around the neck. These rings help the user hold the decanter steady while pouring and are a common feature of decanters. This one also has eleven cut panels that decorate the shoulder. The lowermost part of the body has ribs cut into the glass. The pontil on the outside of the bottom has been polished away. The decanter has its original stopper, which is a round disc with circular hollows cut into each side.
A wine glass, accession no. 2024.14, has a facet-cut stem, exhibiting the same kind of decorative technique as on the decanter rings.
