Comments
The overlapped bent-wood sides of this oval box are laced together with a cane-like material, rather than held together with small nails, or sprigs, as usual in American examples. The top- and bottom-boards are wood-pegged in place. Chains of flowers and leaves adorn the sides in green, yellow, and red paint. The top of the lid is decorated with a landscape.
