Comments
This small bowl or basin has canted, rather than rounded, sides, which are the norm for this size, and the rim angles outward without any hint of a bead or other design feature that might strengthen it. Its shape, combined with the visual quality of the metal, suggest that it may be a relatively recent reproduction. The touchmark also does not look authentic. Further research might identify other uses of this mark. Also, analysis of the pewter content might help determine when it was made.
