Comments

In its most basic definition, an abacus is an instrument for calculating by sliding counters along rods.  Abacuses have been used all over the world by different cultures.  There are different kinds of abacuses.  They have never been common in American use and culture.

The wood frame of this abacus has neat tongue-and-groove corners.  Faint evidence of circular saw marks remains on the wide sides of the frame rails.
