Comments
The cylindrical jar with rounded shoulders and a thick, squared lip has a band of floral motifs just below the shoulder. A double line is scored into the body above the floral bands, and the molding at the top is carefully executed.
The jar was called a "peach jar" on the invoice, suggesting its use in the late 19th century, The inside of the jar is lined with a brown glaze, likely to provide a better seal. There is no lip inside the mouth to support a lid of any kind, but the deep molding around the lip allows a cover to be tied off.
