The conical bowl of this blown wine glass is engraved with three elaborate swags. The stem is facet-cut. Both of these techniques--copper-wheel engraving and grinding to create facets that reflected light--became more common in expensive tablewares through the last quarter of the 18th century. This wine glass stands on a slightly raised foot, and evidence exists of a pontil mark on the underside of the foot.
A blown colorless glass decanter, accession no. 2024.22, also has facet cutting around the three rings at the neck.
