Comments
The oval tea caddy is made of a sheet of pewter, seamed on one side of the body and along the bottom where a second, oval piece has been soldered. The lid has an applied ring around the bottom that creates a good seal with the body. Inside, a secondary lid for the contents is made of a flat piece of metal with a ball finial. It provides an additional seal from oxygen drying the leaves.
