Inscription

"Isaac Pearson / Burlington" is engraved into an oval nameplate mounted on the dial.

Condition Notes

Two feet are older than the other two and may possibly be original (although one or both may have been moved from the back or from one side).  The underside of the baseboard molding does not look like it has been on a floor, so the clock case likley had feet originally.  The single-arch molding around door is probably replaced.  The door hinges are replacements.  Repairs have been made to some back edges of the case.  The spandrels are missing from the corners of the dial.  The weights and pendulum are also missing.

Comments

The 8-day tall clock has a striking movement with a seconds dial and a date wheel.  The brass dial has Roman numerals marking the hours and Arabic numbers marking minutes and around the seconds dial.  

The walnut case has a flat top defined by a bold cornice molding.  The square bonnet door has engaged, turned columns (elongated balusters) at the sides.  Similar quarter columns are tucked into the rear of the bonnet.  The rectangular waist door has a half-round molding applied at the edges, which overlaps and seals the case.  The base panel is made of three walnut boards above an applied base molding.
