Inscription

"W B" within a shield-like flourish is stamped into the face of the handle at the tip.

Provenance

One of a pair given to Winterthur as modern and probable fakes.  The second spoon was not transferred to Odessa in 2005.

Comments

The spoon in the style of 17th century work bears a mark that has been widely identified as of the early 20th century.
