Comments
This porringer, with a handle design popularly called "old English," appears to be a modern reproduction, although evidence is not as obvious as with many other modern examples. This porringer has skimming marks on the outside bottom, suggesting that it was first cast in a mold and then spun to clean up the surface, but there are none of the usual small casting flaws on the back of the handle, nor is there a casting dam mark on the inside of the bowl at the handle.
