Comments
This large platter accompanies a set of four dinner plates, accession no. 1968.837. Their decoration consists of a central basket of blue flowers with gilded highlights. A narrow blue and gold band decorates the inside of the booge as well as near the outer floral band of blue dots and gold (now worn away) at the edge of the rim.
The platter has a molded ridge or rabbet to position a cover, which is missing. The bottom of the platter is unglazed.
