Condition Notes
The rim has two small chips and a flake, as well as three short stress cracks and a stress spider in the center of the bottom. The plate surface is worn in the bottom center.
Provenance
The donor stated that the plate and an accompanying lidded jar (accession no. 2017.12) was purchased at a sale of what was understood to be Corbit family items.
Comments
This porcelain plate is decorated in a palette of black and a deep, rich red with gilded floral and filigree decoration around the rim. It appears to be of the Japanese Meiji Era (1868-1912) and may relate to Kutani Kiln wares.
