Comments

The molded white earthenware pitcher has a bulbous body with a high shoulder beneath a cylindrical neck.  The shape of the squared C scroll handle opposite the large spout helps date the object.  The pitcher has a silver luster (lustre) glaze created from platinum metallic salts that gives it a stylish appearance.

For another example of silver luster, see a small oval dish, accession no. 1959.3574.
