Comments
The turned and tapered mortar has faint score rings in the sides that give it a stacked-ring appearance. The base is turned to a flat ring. The mortar is painted a dark red on the outside, which has worn away near the top. It also has now shrunk to a slight ovoid shape. The turned pestle is unpainted.
