Comments
The rectangular looking glass has an ornately scalloped applied top and bottom with ornate applied ornaments at the top and bottom of each wise. Light- and dark-wood stringing set in the middle of the cross-banded, with cockbeading around the outer edge and a molded strip around the inside complete the front facade of this looking glass. This inlay updates what had become a popular and common looking-glass type of the 1760s, 70s, and 80s.
