This well-executed and elaborately decorated jar has three repeats of large, long-stemmed flowers that droop downward.  Similar motifs appear on stoneware vessels that have been identified as the work of Richard C. Remmey, who ran the Remmey pottery in Philadelphia from 1859 until his death in 1904.  For a marked Remmey jar, see accession no. 2017.87.  Both this and the marked example have very similar glazes, notably infused with spherical encrustations or imperfections.  The jar shape is the same, including the profile of the thick lip at the rim.  The rim exhibits some unevenness on the top.
