The base is a restoration that has now discolored.  The body has darkened and displays deep craquelure.

Comments

The simple baluster-shaped shaker or caster has a domed top with numerous holes.  A decorative flange separates the top from the body.  The caster stands on a flared base.

The caster may be filled through a hole in the underside of the foot.  A cork, now missing, stops the hole.
