Condition Notes

Two stress cracks, one of which reaches to the edge, cross in the center.  The rim has some small chips.

Purchased by Winterthur Museum from dealer Minnie Thomas of McDonough, Delaware.

 

Comments

The shallow bowl has a thick band or collar running around the top of the side walls, a feature probably intended to allow this bowl to stack with others like it.  The glaze color and application, like the collar, suggests its date range.
