Provenance
Although not catalogued at the time, this object appears to be the "bottle with basket covering" listed in a March 25, 1973, offer to sell to Winterthur from Mrs. Harry B. Roberts of Odessa, Delaware. In the listing, she states that the bottle is "from the Shallcross farm near Odessa."
Comments
The molded glass bottle is wrapped entirely in wicker, which also covers the bottom. One end of a wicker handle encircles the neck and the other is woven into the body. It allows easy manipulation of this utilitarian bottle.
