Condition Notes
All of the plates exhibit some surface staining. Plate .1 has nine small rim chips; .2 has one large and two small rim chips; .3 has several small rim chips and edge roughness. Gilding on this plate is is worn away. Plate .4 has two rim chips, both of which are partially in-painted. Gilding on that plate is worn away.
Provenance
Although not confirmed in writing, these plates were probably ex collection H. Rodney Sharp, whose sons were the donors.
Comments
The set of four dinner plates accompanies a large platter, accession no. 1968.838. Their decoration consists of a central basket of blue flowers with gilded highlights. A narrow blue and gold band decorates the inside of the booge as well as near the outer floral band of blue dots and gold at the edge of the rim. The plate brims curve upward.
