Comments
This worn and oxidized plate, with a smooth brim and bead along the underside edge, has a faint touchmark indicating a London origin. The booge is hammered--an indication of good workmanship, Much of the world's best pewter of the second half of the 18th century came from London pewterers. England was a rich source of tin, the primary material in the pewter alloy.
