Comments
The cylindrical box or canister has a hinged lid with a loop handle in the center and a hasp opposite the lid hinge. The edges of the lid and body are rolled over wire for strength. Originally, the box was probably painted black, although all evidence has now been lost. Yellow and red banded decoration is still evident along the edge of the lid where more than a single paint layer was applied.
