Comments
The small, precisely executed picture shows two large roses against green leaves and five-petaled blue flowers that spray outward. An embossed border of circles within bands forms a rectangle around the composition. The name Dobbs is embossed below the rectangular border. Dobbs stood for a London-based company started by Henry Dobbs that made high-quality embossed papers throughout the 19th century. The picture is in a late-19th-century black from with incised deocration on its face.
