Comments
The sack-back Windsor chair has an oval seat into which the four legs, joined by H stretchers, are tenoned. The back bow contains nine spindles; three more spindles are behind the baluster-turned arm supports. The spindles thicken near the bottom. All of them pierce the arm bow or hoop except the middle spindle and the end spindles under the hoop. All of the turnings on this chair are particularly robust.
