Comments
The very ornate and colorful lidded vase has a double-bellied body hidden by applied leafy handles, many applied flowers and two cherub or putti figures standing on the white, circular base with a broad gilded band around the edge. The center of the body has a hand-painted courting scene of a man and woman in 18th century dress. The opposite side is decorated with a pink and a blue flower among smaller flowers and leaves. The lid, separated from the body by wide gilded bands on each, has rococo base in pale aqua and pink. It rises to a large, ovoid finial composed of flowers and greenery.
