Comments
The rectangular box with canted sides has a loose-fitting, single-board cover with two cleats or rails attached near the ends to facilitate moving it. The cleats also help keep the cover flat. The canted end boards of the trough fit into shallow grooves cut into the long sides. The two side boards are held by wooden pegs, some of which have been replaced by nails. The single bottom board is nailed in place. Early nails have been augmented by later nails used to stabilize splits in the board.
